Editor’s Note: Welcome our newest ICBIS staff member Grahame Turner! As a part of Horror Month, we’re going to be recommending horror media we think you should check out. Here’s Grahame with some creepy comics.
Welcome to Horror Month!
We’ve been building up to it for a few weeks, but now that October is in full swing, we can officially kick of Horror Month on ICBIS!
Episode 8: Reference Materials
Hey superfans, here are some reference materials for this week’s podcast!
Episode 8: Dana’s Life Is a Muppet Funeral
We’re back after a short hiatus with a new episode! The new season of Doctor Who started, so of course we talk about that. John busts out his best singing voice for the new James Bond theme, courtesy of Sam Smith. We talk about everything: quilts, Muppets, sonic sunglasses, Rick and Morty… strap on your headphones and give it a listen.

SkyFalsetto: Check out the Spectre Theme Song!
After some slight teases over the past couple of weeks, the folks at Ion have dropped the new Bond theme: “Writing’s on the Wall” by Sam Smith for the upcoming Spectre.
Episode 7: The Phantom Moffat
It’s wife week on the podcast as Dana and Annie join us for a friendly discussion about Doctor Who, starting with the Doctor’s wife, River Song, and ending in a critique of the current state of Who. Is Moffat more J.J. Abrams or George Lucas? Is either one of those good? In addition, Gedge and Annie reveal the worst companion.
Also: Gedge watched the Guest, so we talk about Dan Stevens’ good looks. Plus: Kurt Russell! Weird ’80s horror movies!
Creed Trailer #2 Released
John suggested I post the new Creed trailer. After spending some time wondering how I am going to tastefully trash on the newest iteration of the Assassin’s Creed series, I was happy to find out we’re actually talking about the movie Creed, and my discomfort subsided.
Oversaturated Magic Pulp
Hey everyone. Gedge here. In a recent podcast episode John, Dana and I recapped our adventures at Dragon Con 2015. If you haven’t listened to it yet, strap down your ears for a listen (Episode 6: Dragon Con: Fury Road).
In the podcast, I brought up my experience at a couple publisher panels, which included Titan Books and Ace/Rock. The panel description included something along the phrase of “free swag.” In honesty, I wanted new books, so I showed up to see what they had—no shame, man.
Remember that time urban fantasy became a big deal? Not me. I haven’t kept track of trends in genre fiction in years. So yeah, apparently urban fantasy is a big thing now.
Netflix/Marvel’s Jessica Jones Gets a Teaser!
Yesterday we got the first teaser for the next Netflix Marvel show: Jessica Jones, and it looks pretty slick. It doesn’t gives us anything in terms of story, but it definitely establishes a tone, what with the sultry music and artsy visuals. There appears to be a Netflix/Marvel “house style” on display here, as the teaser feels of a piece with the Daredevil materials we got around release time.
Episode 6: Dragon Con: Fury Road
We’re back again, and this time with a special guest! Dana joins us to help us recap Dragon Con and bring some much needed estrogen to the equation.
Also, we talk a lot about Mad Max: Fury Road, which escalates into a discussion about the finer points of action cinema. Once again, Gedge is wrong about the Bourne movies. Plus: new friends! cosplay! wrestling! JAMES BOND!
